DomiFrame is a picture frame with an E Ink screen. Friends and family send photos from a link on their phone; the frame picks them up, draws them in six real inks, and goes back to sleep. No app, no account, no glowing screen on the wall.

How it works

about a minute, start to finish

  1. Pick a photo

    Open your frame's link on any phone or computer and choose a photo, or a whole folder. Crop it, brighten it, sign it with your name.

  2. It's turned into ink

    Right in your browser, the photo is dithered into the panel's six inks: black, white, red, yellow, blue and green. The preview is exactly what the frame will show.

  3. The frame wakes and draws it

    At its next check-in, or when someone presses its button, the frame downloads the picture, redraws in about 20 seconds, and sleeps again.

Why e-paper

An E Ink screen reflects light like paper instead of shining it, so a picture looks printed rather than lit, and it doesn't use any power to stay on the wall. The frame only wakes to check for new pictures, then sleeps.

Private by design

Each frame has its own link and code. There are no accounts or public galleries: only people you give the link to can add pictures.
